Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about tractor attachments, fitment, shipping, or ordering? You've come to the right place. Browse our most common questions below, or connect with one of our specialists for personalized guidance.

Fitment & Compatibility

How do I know if an attachment will fit my tractor?

The best way to confirm fitment is to match the attachment's connection type, size requirements, and power specifications to your tractor's capabilities. Most three-point hitch attachments require you to know your tractor's hitch category, horsepower rating, and — if the attachment is PTO-driven — your PTO shaft speed (typically 540 RPM or 1000 RPM). On each product page, we display fitment indicators based on common tractor makes and models. If your tractor is listed, look for the fitment status badge next to it. Still unsure? Visit our Compatibility Guide or reach out to our team before placing your order.

What do your fitment status badges mean — Confirmed, Probable, and Unknown?

We use three fitment status badges to help you quickly understand how confident we are that a given attachment will work with your tractor:

Confirmed — We have verified, either through manufacturer specifications or direct testing, that this attachment is compatible with your tractor. You can purchase with confidence.

Probable — Based on published specifications and general compatibility rules, this attachment should work with your tractor, but we have not independently confirmed it. We recommend double-checking your tractor's specs or contacting us before ordering.

Unknown — We do not have enough information on file to make a compatibility determination for your specific tractor. Please contact our experts or consult your tractor's owner's manual before purchasing. We're happy to help you work through it.

For a full explanation of how we determine fitment ratings, visit our Compatibility Guide.

What is a 3-point hitch category, and which one does my tractor use?

The 3-point hitch (3PH) is the standard mounting system used on the rear of most tractors to connect implements and attachments. The hitch is divided into categories — Category 0, 1, 2, and 3 — based on the size and weight capacity of the tractor. Each category has specific pin sizes and dimensions that must match between the tractor and the attachment.

Category 0 is designed for small garden tractors (under 20 HP). Category 1 covers compact and sub-compact tractors in the 20–50 HP range and is the most common for hobby farmers and homesteaders. Category 2 is used on larger utility tractors from 40–120 HP, and Category 3 applies to large row-crop and agricultural tractors over 80 HP. Your tractor's owner's manual will confirm which category your hitch uses. When in doubt, ask our team — this is one of the most common questions we help customers with every day.

Do I need a PTO (Power Take-Off) to use this attachment?

It depends on the attachment. Many implements — such as box blades, landscape rakes, and rear blades — are purely mechanical and do not require a PTO connection. They are simply mounted to the 3-point hitch and pulled or angled by the tractor's hydraulics or manual adjustment. Other attachments — such as rotary cutters, tillers, post hole diggers, and snow blowers — are PTO-driven, meaning they require a rotating shaft connection from your tractor to power the implement's working components.

Each product page clearly indicates whether a PTO connection is required. If PTO is required, we also note the compatible shaft speed (540 RPM is standard for most compact and utility tractors; 1000 RPM is common on larger tractors). If your tractor does not have a functioning PTO or you're unsure whether your PTO speed matches, contact our specialists before ordering.

What if I'm not sure whether an attachment is compatible with my tractor?

Please don't guess — we're here to help. Purchasing an incompatible attachment is a frustrating and costly experience, and we want to make sure you get the right implement for your tractor the first time. Before placing your order, gather your tractor's make, model, year, horsepower, hitch category, and PTO speed (if applicable), and reach out to our team through our Expert Help page. We'll review your setup and let you know definitively whether an attachment will work. You can also browse our Compatibility Guide for self-service resources, including common fitment charts by manufacturer.

Shipping & Freight

How does freight shipping work for large attachments?

Most tractor attachments and implements are large, heavy pieces of equipment that cannot be shipped via standard parcel carriers like UPS or FedEx. These items are shipped via LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight on a pallet. Here's what to expect:

After your order is placed, your attachment will be prepared, palletized, and picked up by a freight carrier. You will receive a tracking number once the shipment is in transit. When your order is approaching your area, the freight carrier will typically call you in advance to schedule a delivery appointment. Freight deliveries are made to the curb or the end of your driveway — the driver is not required to bring the shipment onto your property or assist with unloading. We strongly recommend having appropriate equipment (such as a tractor with a front loader, a pallet jack, or helping hands) available when your delivery arrives. For full details on the freight process, visit our Shipping Information page.

How long does shipping take?

Processing and handling time is typically 1–3 business days before your order ships. Transit time via LTL freight generally ranges from 3–7 business days depending on your location and the carrier's routing. Remote or rural areas may experience slightly longer transit times. Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number so you can monitor progress. Please note that freight delivery schedules can be subject to carrier delays, especially during peak seasons. If you have a time-sensitive need, contact us before ordering and we'll do our best to accommodate your timeline. For a complete overview of estimated delivery windows, visit our Shipping Information page.

Do you offer free shipping?

Free shipping eligibility varies by product. Some items on AttachmentsUSA.com qualify for free freight shipping, and this will be clearly noted on the product page and at checkout. For items that do not qualify for free shipping, freight costs are calculated based on the size and weight of the attachment and your delivery location. We work with multiple freight carriers to ensure competitive rates. If you have questions about shipping costs for a specific item before purchasing, contact our team and we'll provide an accurate quote. You can also review our shipping policy in full on our Shipping Information page.

Condition Grades

What do your condition grades mean — New, Like New, Good, and Fair?

At AttachmentsUSA.com, we sell both new and pre-owned attachments. To help you understand exactly what you're purchasing, we use a standardized four-tier condition grading system:

New — The attachment is brand new, unused, and in original factory condition. It may come in original packaging or have been removed from packaging for inspection. No wear, no repairs, no prior use.

Like New — The attachment has been used minimally or for demonstration purposes and shows little to no visible wear. It is in excellent working condition and performs as new.

Good — The attachment shows normal signs of use, such as surface rust, paint wear, or minor cosmetic blemishes, but all functional components are in solid working condition. This is the most common grade for quality used equipment.

Fair — The attachment shows more significant wear, cosmetic damage, or may have components that have been repaired or replaced. It is still functional but may require some maintenance or attention. Fair-grade items are priced accordingly and represent strong value for buyers comfortable with basic upkeep.

Each product listing includes detailed photos and a written description of any notable wear or defects. If you have questions about a specific item's condition, contact us and we'll provide additional information or photos.

Are used attachments reliable, and what should I look out for?

Yes — quality used tractor attachments can deliver years of reliable service at a fraction of the cost of new equipment. Tractor implements are generally built to be rugged and long-lasting, and many pre-owned attachments have substantial useful life remaining. That said, it's important to inspect any used implement carefully before purchase.

Key things to look for include: the condition of cutting edges and wear points (such as blades, teeth, or skid shoes), the integrity of welds and structural components, the condition of any hydraulic cylinders or lines, the state of the PTO driveline (if applicable), and the presence of significant rust or corrosion. Our product photos and condition descriptions are designed to give you an honest, thorough picture of each item. If you'd like to know more about a specific used attachment, reach out to our team and we'll give you our honest assessment.

Ordering & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept payment via PayPal, Shop Pay, and other accelerated checkout options available at checkout. For large purchases, financing options may be available — look for financing prompts on product pages or at checkout. If you have a specific payment question or need to arrange an alternative payment method for a large or commercial order, please contact our team directly and we'll work with you to find a solution.

Can I cancel or modify my order after it has been placed?

We process orders quickly in order to minimize delays, so it's important to contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change. If your order has not yet been processed or shipped, we will do our best to accommodate cancellations or modifications at no charge. Once an order has been picked up by a freight carrier, cancellation or modification may not be possible, or may be subject to return freight fees and restocking charges. To request a cancellation or change, contact our team immediately with your order number and the details of your request. We'll confirm the status of your order and let you know what options are available.
